Lyckeli terms and conditions

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Lyckeli ("we," "our," or the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

In our apps we may require you to read the full Terms and confirm acceptance after scrolling through the document, and by creating an account you confirm that you have read and accept the then-current version of these Terms.

2. Newsletter and communications

By creating an account with Lyckeli, you agree to receive our newsletter, which may include recipe inspiration, product updates, tips, and announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time through your profile settings in the app or by following the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

We will only send newsletters to the email address associated with your account. We do not share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Recipe data and user interactions

3.1 Use of recipe interaction data

Lyckeli may collect and analyze data related to your interactions with recipes (e.g., ratings, saves, and usage frequency) to:

• Promote recipes to users with similar dietary conditions or preferences,
• Enhance our algorithm to recommend successful or highly-rated recipes, and
• Facilitate knowledge-sharing among users (e.g., highlighting popular recipes) without disclosing personally identifiable information.

3.2 Public availability of generated recipes

All recipes generated through Lyckeli are made publicly available. By using the service, you acknowledge that your generated recipes may be shared with the Lyckeli community.

3.3 Ratings and comments

Ratings. Your individual rating of a recipe is never linked to your public profile or shown with your identity. However, ratings contribute anonymously to aggregate signals visible to other users — such as a recipe's average rating, review count, and its position in "popular" or recommended lists — so that the community can find recipes that work well for people with similar conditions.

Comments. Your comments on recipes will not be made public unless you explicitly choose to publish them. Any published comments will be anonymized and detached from your personal profile.

3.4 Account deletion

You may delete your Lyckeli account and profile at any time. Upon deletion:

• Your personal profile and account information will be permanently removed.
• Any recipes you generated will remain available to the Lyckeli community, but all links to your profile and your activity data (e.g., ratings, comments) will be deleted.
• Lyckeli will retain only anonymized, aggregated data for analytical purposes, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

3.5 Data protection

Lyckeli processes all user data in accordance with GDPR and other relevant privacy regulations. For further details, see our Privacy policy.

3.6 Use of data and tracking

We use account, health-related preferences you choose to provide, product interaction, and similar information to operate and improve Lyckeli as described in our Privacy policy. Cookies and similar technologies, and how you can manage them on our marketing site, are described in our Cookie policy. We may use aggregated, anonymized usage trends to measure and improve our own marketing and advertising for Lyckeli (including audience insights), without sharing data that identifies you as an individual. We do not use that information to track you across third-party apps or websites for behavioural advertising that targets you personally. If we change our practices and carry out that kind of cross-app or cross-site individual tracking, we will comply with applicable law on consent, permissions, and any other requirements that apply, and notify our users accordingly.

4. Intellectual property

4.1 User-generated content

You retain ownership of your original recipes but grant Lyckeli a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, and share them within the Platform.

4.2 Lyckeli's intellectual property

All AI-generated content, algorithms, and platform features are owned by Lyckeli. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit these without our written permission.

4.3 Prohibited content

You agree not to upload recipes that:

• Violate copyright or intellectual property rights,
• Contain harmful, misleading, or illegal information, or
• Infringe on others' rights or privacy.

5. User responsibilities

5.1 Accuracy and compliance

You must ensure that your contributions are accurate and comply with these Terms. You are solely responsible for the content you share.

5.2 Prohibited activities

You may not:

• Use Lyckeli for commercial purposes without authorization,
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Platform, or
• Impersonate others or violate any laws.

6. Disclaimers and liability

6.1 Not medical advice

Lyckeli provides informational tools only. Our content is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a healthcare provider before making dietary changes, especially for children or individuals under the care of a guardian.

6.2 Parental/guardian responsibility

If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for supervising and approving the use of Lyckeli by minors under your care. Lyckeli is not liable for any use of the Platform by minors or for any consequences arising from such use.

6.3 No warranties

The Platform and its content are provided "as is." Lyckeli does not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or safety of any recipe or recommendation.

6.4 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lyckeli is not liable for:

• Damages arising from your use or misuse of the Platform,
• Allergic reactions, health issues, or other consequences of following recipes, or
• Third-party content or links.

6.5 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Lyckeli against claims arising from your violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

7. Termination, suspension, and community guidelines

Lyckeli reserves the right to suspend, terminate, or restrict access to the Platform for any user who:

• Violates these Terms or applicable laws,
• Engages in abusive, harassing, or harmful behavior,
• Shares misleading, dangerous, or inappropriate content, or
• Otherwise disrupts the positive and supportive community spirit of Lyckeli.

We may also moderate or remove user-generated content that violates these Terms or our community standards. Decisions are made at our sole discretion. Users may appeal moderation decisions by contacting team@lycke.li.

8. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will publish the revised Terms in the app and on our website and update the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we will also notify you (for example by email or in-app notice).

Continued use of Lyckeli after updated Terms are published may require you to confirm acceptance of the new version in the app (including by reading the full text where we present it). If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may delete your account.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Copenhagen, unless otherwise required by law.

10. Third-party links

Lyckeli may link to external sites (e.g., nutritional databases) for your convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

11. Force majeure

Lyckeli is not liable for service interruptions caused by events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, technical failures).

13. Miscellaneous

13.1 Entire agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Lyckeli regarding the use of the Platform.
